Auditions are not required for Kinder Chorus.
Younger singers auditioning for Angelus Chorus singers are asked to sing “Twinkle, Twinkle” in three different keys and then echo clapping. This is so we can determine the singer’s range, if they can move up, find their pitch and follow tempo.
Older singers auditioning for Excelsior Chorus must sing “America” (My Country ‘tis of Thee). Then we will check their vocal range, do some tonal memory activities, have them read rhythms from flash cards, and then sing a round together with one of the directors.
